Holly Center Redevelopment
Our mission is to ensure that the redevelopment of the Holly Center in Northeast Park Hill becomes a catalyst for a broader revitalization effort in the community.

Holly Area Communications Committee
The Communications Committee met on October 13th at the Prodigal Son, Inc. office on 33rd and Hudson to plan outreach for the first planning workshop on November 7th. Minutes from that meeting are attached.
Holly Area Executive Committee
The volunteer Executive Committee met with community by design, the community design and architectural consultants working with the resident planners, on October 5th at Hiawatha Davis Rec Center. The minutes of the meeting are attached.
Community Design Workshop II
Community design team will present draft sketches and site plans, based on information collected at Workshop I on November 7th. Participants will provide input to refine and further shape plans.

The executive committee held its first meeting on October 5th. Members met with Ray Kramer and Jann Oldham, the community planning and architecture consultant team that will be assisting residents with the re-design process. They marked off dates for the first two community design workshops and discussed outreach and next steps. The minutes of this meeting are attached.
Communications Committee Meeting
At this meeting the Communications Committee will be developing an outreach plan to ensure maximum community participation at the first design workshop on November 7th. Of special concern will be outreach to Latino residents of Northeast Park Hill and to younger members of the community.

The volunteer Executive Committee will have its first meeting on October 5, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Hiawatha Davis Recreation Center. This will be the first meeting with the community design partners hired to assist with the planning process. We will also decide on a subcommittee structure to help us achieve our planning and outreach goals.

Holly Area Redevelopment Process
Overview of the Holly Area Redevelopment Planning Process: The Urban Land Conservancy (ULC) purchased the former Holly Shopping Center, a four acre site between Hudson and Holly and 33rd and 35th in Northeast Park Hill, in the spring of 2008.
Meeting with community by design
A small group from the planning committee will be meeting with the design consultants, community by design, for a brief orientation and to plan next steps with the larger planning group.

Holly Area Planning Group - September 14, 2009
The planning group met on September 14th to interview two finalists for a community design consultant, which the Urban Land Conservancy offered to hire to assist the planning group with its work. The planning group and the ULC chose community by design (cbd). A copy of cbd's professional services proposal is attached.
Town Hall Planning Group De-brief, Community Design Partner Interviews, Next Steps
The town hall planning group will meet to de-brief the August 28th town hall meeting, to hear presentations from two potential community design partners, and to plan next steps.
