In what Radar Online considers to be an "exclusive," a VHS tape that depicts a 23-year-old Chelsea Handler has surfaced. At first glance seems like to be Handler practicing her standup routine at home, but it quickly explodes into a sex tape featuring Chelsea Handler and a male sporting a British accent. In what seems like a flash, the recording easily cuts back to the standup routine. Chelsea Handler said on her E! Network program "Chelsea Lately" that Radar Online's sex tape claim was bogus because she'd only made the tape to make a large impact when auditioning for a job at a LA comedy club during the days when she frequently was in need of a loan. "I would like to say to Radar Online: A) thanks for ruining my surprise Christmas gift to my staff, and number two, it was made as a joke," Handler said to her loyal "Chelsea Lately" viewers. "I put it on an audition tape for a comedy club because I'm a comedian."

Sexually frank standup routines and semi-autobiographical books like "My Horizontal Life," "Are You There, Vodka? The stories are in turns amusing and outrageous, and almost never family fare. It's not a stretch to assume the so-called Chelsea Handler sex tape was simply a laugh-and-shock means to an end: getting a job.

The sloppy jump cut doesn't necessarily make it seem like the sex was supposed to be part of an audition tape, claims The Hollywood Gossip. Handler has denied this, of course. What the gossip media could be missing out on is that Chelsea mentions in her books that she had a British boyfriend back in her early waitressing and standup days. She writes that she once cared about the man, until he started sleeping around. Now that "Chelsea Handler" is one of the biggest brand names in comedy, could it be that the former British boyfriend was looking for a payoff or wanted to knock her down a peg?

If such is the case, then clearly "British Bob" doesn't know who he's dealing with. Handler told her "Chelsea Lately" audience that a person (whom she did not identify) attempted a sex tape shakedown to the tune of $ 1,000,000. In typical Chelsea fashion, the comedian rebuffed the unnamed blackmailer, saying "No thanks. I am not worth it."
