Uncharitable

Has anyone read the book Uncharitable?
Dan Pallotta has authored a book about the constraints placed upon the nonprofit/charitable sector called Uncharitable.

Do you think the nonprofit sector is ultimately hindered by our charitable status? Will our outcomes always be out of reach while we exist outside (or on the periphery of) capitalism?

Interesting article on nonprofit fundraising

Hello All,

LaurenCroucher's picture

Alternative business models and revenue streams for nonprofits

Maria opened this conversation because of her experience with different nonprofits with different funding and revenue sources. As we know, there are differences between many nonprofit agencies and the ways that they generate funds/revenue – through providing or selling goods and services, grant funding, individual donor support, etc.

In Attendance:
Lauren Croucher, Maria Lewis, Tom Ramirez, Caryn Capriccioso, Jennifer Anton, Arnie Kover, Esther Gross, Matt Buchman, Denny Thompson, Deb Roberts, Diana Lopez-Atencio, Stella Yu, Sean McBride, Jeff King, Suzanne Connors, Heather Kopas
Next Actions:
We are hoping to see if there are any agencies (Social venture agencies or CPAs) that might be willing to provide a training for those of us interested in learning more about the regulations around these ideas and staying in line with our nonprofit status.
