About our group
• 9HealthFair – has significant impact/capacity reaches 100,000 through programming and 26,000 through classroom teaching with 19,000 volunteers. We can do more, we want help other nonprofits to realize more of their mission, and we’d like to help. Mission: free and low-cost screenings 18+ and have everyone assume responsibility for their own health. Created a family fair – invited the entire family to come, as a rule you cannot get a Latino family to come without inviting the whole family - 1000 kids under 18 came. 9Health Fair wants to be a referral for continuity of care. http://www.9healthfair.org/
• Howard Dental Center - Oral healthcare to those living with HIV-AIDS – see fabulous work being done are very few people – have a really great facility at 14th and Ogden – indigent population – they get all these other resources through all these other agencies – case manager – granted we’re just HIV but maybe our patients have other healthcare issues – economies of scale – likelihood of going to each provider – write a treatment plan, not just triage – mouth is the gateway to the whole immune system. Great facility that isn’t being used for half-the day “I watch this clinic sit empty” 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. dentists 2 with 3 chairs, dreams of having more hours/access for clients – maybe another organization can use the space when we are not using it. http://www.howarddental.org

Opportunities
• Using Existing Electronic Medical Records – 9Health Fair has online medical records with blood values online, in their 2nd year. Clients receive 2 paper results sent to their home
• Create a social network of nonprofit healthcare providers – allow nonprofit providers to opt-in to the system and then they can refer clients to other nonprofit healthcare organizations in real-time. The database could be sorted by need, location, and ability to pay. This could also include a Google map app to show the organizations on a map for the client
o 9Health Fair wants to redo their website but doesn’t have the capacity to keep up a social network
